What if, instead of asking, Why Me?, we started asking, What Now?

Where Grit Meets Grace

What's happenin' my friend!

I don't know about you, but for me, life always finds a way of throwing me a curveball right about the time I think life is going good! I'm talking about the unexpected, the painful, the downright unfair—all that crap that can turn a good day into a real-life nightmare!

But what if those very challenges, the ones we’d never choose, are actually the very thing shaping us into who we’re meant to be?

Today, I present you with 2 different perspectives on how we can look at life...

  1. What if your setback is your greatest opportunity?
  2. How can anyone go from emotional abuse to unshakable joy?

Life is Happening for You, Not to You!

We all have moments in life that bring us to our knees. Maybe it’s a loss, a setback, or an unexpected change that feels impossible to face. In those moments, it’s easy to believe that life is happening to us—that we are victims of circumstances beyond our control. But what if we flipped that mindset? What if, instead of asking, Why me?, we started asking, What now?

Pain has a way of shaping us in ways comfort never could.

Some of the strongest, most compassionate, and most purpose-driven people are the ones who have walked through the fire and come out on the other side. If you’re in a tough season right now, I want you to know this: You are not broken. You are being built. What feels unbearable today might just be the foundation of something powerful tomorrow.

The Science of Happiness with Tamara

Ever felt like happiness was just out of reach? Like no matter what you accomplish, it’s never enough? This week, I sat down with happiness coach Tamara Zoner, who shared a powerful truth—happiness isn’t something you find; it’s something you create.

Happiness is a skill—one we can all strengthen with simple, intentional practices. It’s about shifting our focus from what’s missing to what’s already good. It’s about choosing joy in the little things—whether it’s dancing around your kitchen, taking a deep breath of fresh air, or even just making a silly walk to the fridge (yes, really—Tamara explains why!).

If you’ve been feeling stuck in a rut, this is for you!

🌟 Why listen? If you’ve been waiting for happiness to happen to you, this episode will flip that idea on its head. You’ll walk away with actionable tools to create more joy in your daily life—starting right now.

A Time of Reflection:

What’s something hard you’ve been through that, looking back, has shaped you in an unexpected way? And what’s one small thing you can do today to choose happiness?

Whether you take a moment to write in a journal, doodle on a notepad, or dictate out a note on your iPhone, I encourage you to take the time to do this exercise as soon as you can!

Until next time, stay awesome, create happiness, and start flipping life's challenges on their head!
